Senate Approves Establishment of North Central Development Commission
The North Central Development Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024 has successfully passed its third reading in the legislature as it was initially introduced in the 9th Senate by Senator Moro and the bill recently progressed through its second reading in February 2024.
Although, following the presentation of the committee on special duties’ report, the 2024 NCDC bill was formally approved on Thursday and the commission will assume the crucial role of receiving and administering funds from the federal government and donors.
As, its primary mandate will encompass the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration, and reconstruction of infrastructure such as roads, houses, and business premises affected by floods and conflicts between farmers and herders.
