Russia Offers to Help Resolve Iran Conflict, Signals Diplomatic Role
Russia has expressed readiness to assist in resolving the ongoing conflict in Iran, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Thursday.
Peskov said President Vladimir Putin continues to hold discussions with regional leaders, and Russian agencies are prepared to support efforts to transition the military situation toward a peaceful outcome.
The remarks follow recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the Iran conflict, including his suggestion that the United States might reconsider its membership in NATO. Peskov reiterated Russia’s position that NATO is a hostile alliance.
Analysts say Russia’s offer positions it as a potential mediator in efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, highlighting Moscow’s interest in asserting influence in Middle Eastern diplomacy.
