Rudeboy Vows Legal Action Over Defamation Allegation on Social Media

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has threatened legal action against a social media user who accused him of sexually coercing a former domestic worker—an allegation he has described as false and defamatory.
The controversy erupted after photos from the 25th birthday celebration of his wife, Ivy Ifeoma, circulated on X (formerly Twitter). While some users mocked the couple’s age difference, the matter escalated when an account identified as @chubbiedivah alleged that the singer coerced a domestic staff member and subsequently sent his wife and her sister out of the house when confronted.
The post, which was widely shared, drew sharp criticism from fans, many of whom flagged the claims as damaging and unfounded. In his response, Rudeboy took to X to announce that he would not let the matter slide, vowing to track down the individual behind the account and pursue legal redress.
“I will use every necessary means, power, resources, and money to ensure this person is held accountable,” he wrote.
The singer’s reaction has since sparked debates online about defamation, the limits of free speech on social media, and the consequences of spreading unverified allegations against public figures.
