Prominent Islamic Cleric Sheikh Usman Idris Kusfa Dies at 57
A prominent Islamic cleric in Zaria, Kaduna State, Sheikh Usman Idris Kusfa, popularly known as Rigi-Rigi, has died at the age of 57.
A senior disciple of the cleric, Nasiruddeen Umar, also known as Baharu, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Zaria.
Umar said Kusfa died in the early hours of Monday at a private hospital in Kaduna after battling an illness for several months.
He noted that the cleric was widely known for his Islamic teachings and had built a strong following on TikTok and other social media platforms, where his sermons attracted a large audience.
According to Umar, the late cleric is survived by four wives, 37 children, and many grandchildren.
He added that the funeral prayer for the deceased has been scheduled to take place in Kusfa, Zaria City, at 4.30 pm on Monday.
