President Xi Jinping Invites President Tinubu to China
Chinese leader President Xi Jinping has extended an invitation to President Bola Tinubu for a state visit to China in September.
The invitation was conveyed by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, during a visit to Aso Villa on Thursday.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the invitation in a statement released via his official X handle on Friday.
According to the statement, President Tinubu has accepted the invitation and expressed hope that the visit will bolster Nigeria-China bilateral relations and advance the proposed currency swap agreement.
The statement further noted, “Chen, who came with a large entourage, said President Xi would also welcome First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit.”
