President Bola Tinubu and former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, have mourned the passing of Dr. Christopher Kolade, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished intellectuals whose life embodied integrity, service, and excellence.
In a personally signed statement, President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over Kolade’s death, noting that he received the news with profound sadness. The President described the late elder statesman, who died at the age of 92, as a man of exceptional character who made remarkable contributions to national development through education, corporate governance, diplomacy, and humanitarian service.
Tinubu praised Kolade’s brilliance, patriotism, and dedication, calling him one of Nigeria’s finest figures whose integrity and commitment to public service remained exemplary throughout his lifetime.
