Poncho Serna Joins Super Falcons as Performance Analyst for Olympics
The Super Falcons have enlisted the services of a performance and match analysis analyst ahead of the women’s football event at the Paris 2024 Olympics according to reports
Poncho Serna, an analysis scout, had announced on his X handle (formerly Twitter) that he will join the Nigerian women’s team (@NGSuper_Falcons) as a performance analyst for the Olympic Games.
I am very happy and excited to share this: during the Olympics Games I will be working with the Nigerian women’s team (@NGSuper_Falcons), in the area of performance analysis,” Serna posted. “When one door closes, a better one opens. To continue learning and enjoying.”
The nine-time African champions, who last participated in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in China in 2008, are set to play a training match against reigning Olympic champions Canada in Sevilla on Wednesday, July 17.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons’ first match at the Olympics is scheduled against Brazil on July 25 and on July 28, they will face Spain in their second group game before concluding their group stage campaign against 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions, Japan.
