Nottingham Forest Appoint Sean Dyche as New Manager

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new manager on a contract running until the summer of 2027.
The 54-year-old Englishman becomes Forest’s third manager this season, succeeding Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed just 17 minutes after the club’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Postecoglou failed to win any of his eight matches in charge, recording two draws and six losses, after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked just three games into the campaign.
Forest currently sit 18th in the Premier League with one win from eight matches, enduring a tough start to the season.
Dyche’s first assignment will be a Europa League clash at home to Porto on Thursday, followed by a Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.
The recruitment process was overseen by Forest’s global head of football Edu Gaspar and technical director George Syrianos. The club also held talks with Roberto Mancini, while Fulham boss Marco Silva was among those admired for the role.
In an official statement, Forest described Dyche as “a respected and experienced Premier League manager who brings the perfect blend of character, tactical acumen and proven achievement to guide the club through its next chapter.”
A former Forest youth player, Dyche is said to understand the club’s culture and values deeply. His backroom staff will include Ian Woan and Steven Stone, both of whom previously played for the Reds.
Football pundit Chris Sutton described Dyche’s arrival as “a sensible appointment,” noting his track record at Burnley and Everton. “Forest want to stay in the league, and Dyche is the right man for that. They won’t go down — they have too many good players,” he said.
