NOA Urges Nigerians to Embrace Vaccination on World Immunization Day 2025
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on all Nigerians to prioritize immunization as the country marks World Immunization Day 2025 under the theme “Vaccine for All: Protecting Our Future Together.” The agency highlighted the critical role vaccines play in preventing deadly diseases, noting that immunization saves between 3.5 and 5 million lives annually, according to the World Health Organization.
NOA emphasized that vaccines protect children, adults, and entire communities, prevent outbreaks of diseases such as measles, polio, and hepatitis, reduce healthcare costs, and strengthen national productivity.
The agency urged Nigerians to complete routine immunization schedules for children, stay informed about adult vaccines, including Hepatitis B, COVID-19, and influenza, support local health campaigns, and advocate for accessible vaccination services across the country as the agency called on citizens to work together in building a healthier and stronger Nigeria through vaccination.
