The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s animation industry through active participation in the 9th Lagos International Festival of Animation (LIFANIMA 2025).
The three-day festival, which began on October 7 at the Mike Adenuga Centre in Lagos, provides a platform to showcase creativity and promote national values through animation and digital storytelling.
Highlighting its role in fostering cultural development, the NOA designated October 8 as “NOA Day” at the festival. The Agency’s Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on the National Animation Policy, where he will outline the strategic role of animation in promoting patriotism, unity, and respect for Nigeria’s cultural diversity.
NOA’s involvement in LIFANIMA underscores its resolve to collaborate with stakeholders in the creative sector to align national policies with industry growth. The Agency aims to empower Nigerian animators to tell stories that reflect national identity, foster inclusion, and inspire pride in local heritage.
As part of its engagement at the festival, the NOA will unveil a new award category during the LIFANIMA Awards Night to celebrate innovation and encourage collaboration across the animation ecosystem.
The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy and position animation as a powerful tool for education, national reorientation, and cultural diplomacy.
