NOA DG Urges Nigerians to Promote Unity as Ramadan and Lent Begin
The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerians to embrace national unity and peaceful coexistence as the Ramadan and Lent seasons began on the same day.
He said the convergence of these significant religious periods offers a unique opportunity for citizens to reflect on shared values and work collectively toward national cohesion, peace, and progress.
Issa-Onilu also called on Muslims and Christians to uphold the duty of care by being their brothers’ keepers, noting that the compassion and selfless service emphasized during Ramadan and Lent should inspire people to look out for one another regardless of faith.
He further encouraged Nigerians to use the spiritual period to pray for the government, particularly in its ongoing efforts to address the nation’s security challenges.
