NOA DG Says Nigeria’s Development Tied to Embracing National Values
The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has emphasized that patriotism, national unity, and civic responsibility are essential for building a prosperous and stable Nigeria.
Issa-Onilu made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Nigerianization Network to the NOA. He noted that these values are enshrined in the National Value Charter, which also promotes discipline, resilience, respect, and tolerance. According to him, embracing these principles will foster a sense of belonging and pride among Nigerians.
The NOA DG commended the Nigerianization Network for its efforts in promoting civic responsibility and the Nigerian identity, stating that their work reflects the core purpose of the NOA. He assured the organization of the agency’s readiness to collaborate with like-minded groups and expressed anticipation for their flagship national event scheduled for April 2026.
In response, the National Coordinator of the Nigerianization Network, Dr. Otus Dondaniels, praised the NOA DG for his achievements in promoting national identity and civic values. He highlighted the Network’s goal of mobilizing over 70 percent of Nigerians to take ownership of the country’s future and called on the NOA to formally partner with the Network, particularly in supporting its National Identity Symposium.
The visit concluded with the presentation of an award to Mallam Issa-Onilu by the Nigerianization Network in recognition of his leadership in championing national values, civic responsibility, and the strengthening of Nigerian identity.
