NOA Condemns Kebbi Schoolgirls’ Abduction, Kwara Worshippers’ Attack
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has condemned the abduction of 25 students from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Kebbi State and the violent attack on Christian worshippers in Eruku Town, Kwara State.
NOA Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, described both incidents as “reprehensible and unacceptable,” stressing that schools must remain safe spaces and that freedom of worship is a fundamental right protected by the Nigerian Constitution as he further offered condolences to the victims and their families and assured the public that, under President Bola Tinubu’s directive, security agencies are intensifying efforts to ensure the safe return of the abducted students and worshippers while also highlighting the agency’s monthly National Security Briefings, urging Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely information to prevent further harm.
