NNPCL Announces Four-Day Maintenance on Seplat Gas Facilities
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a scheduled routine maintenance exercise on gas production facilities operated by Seplat Energy Plc, a joint venture partner and key supplier to the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) pipeline network.
The maintenance is set to take place from February 12 to 15, 2026.
NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Andrew Odeh, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that the exercise forms part of standard industry safety and asset integrity protocols.
According to the company, the planned maintenance is aimed at ensuring the continued reliability, efficiency, and safe operation of critical gas infrastructure. It added that periodic maintenance is essential for sustaining optimal system performance, strengthening operational resilience, and minimizing the risk of unplanned outages.
NNPCL stated that there will be a temporary reduction in gas supply into the NGIC pipeline network during the four days. As a result, some power generation companies that depend on the supply may experience reduced gas availability, which could modestly affect electricity generation within the timeframe.
The company assured that NNPC Ltd and Seplat Energy are working closely to ensure the maintenance is carried out safely and completed as scheduled. In addition, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) is engaging alternative gas suppliers to cushion the anticipated supply gap and maintain stability across the network.
NNPCL expressed optimism that full gas supply into the NGIC system will resume promptly after the maintenance exercise, allowing affected power generation companies to return to normal operations.
