NLC, TUC Mobilise for Solidarity Rally Against FCTA Tuesday

February 2, 2026

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have directed their affiliates and state councils to mobilise for a peaceful solidarity rally in Abuja on Tuesday, February 3, in support of workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement, jointly signed by NLC Acting General Secretary Benson Upah and TUC Secretary General Nuhu Toro, reaffirmed labour’s unwavering solidarity with the workers, describing their agitation as legitimate and non-negotiable urging workers to remain united and resolute, while stressing that the protest would be peaceful and lawful as they warned against any attempt to intimidate workers, insisting that labour would not retreat in the face of hardship or repression.
