Nigerian Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam Joins Everton as First Summer Signing
Everton Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of midfielder Tim Iroegbunam via their official website.
The young talent, eligible to represent Nigeria internationally, completed a transfer from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
In his first words as an Everton player, the former West Brom schoolboy said: “I’m very pleased. Everton is an amazing club, a big club and I’m just really happy to join and I can’t wait to get started.
It was a move that I didn’t want to pass by. I wanted to take the opportunity.
“When I spoke to Kevin [Thelwell], he told me more about the Club – its history, the future and where they see me playing.
“It made me feel very excited because there are big things coming, especially with the new stadium.”
Tim Iroegbunam, who previously featured for England at the U20 level, signed a three-year contract with Everton, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2027.
He marks Everton’s inaugural signing of the summer transfer window and is set to commence training with his new teammates at the onset of pre-season preparations in early July.
