Nigerian Artist Portable Accuses Davido of Exploitation, Lack of Support

Nigerian artist Portable has accused Afrobeat star Davido of exploiting him for clout without providing financial support or fulfilling promises of collaboration.
In a recent video that circulated online, Portable expressed his grievances, alleging that Davido invited him to a dinner in Atlanta, USA, but did not follow through with promised financial compensation or a verse for a collaboration.
“Davido ripped me off. You invited me out for dinner in America but you didn’t give me a verse or money, you just used me to trend. You should have given me at least $10,000,” Portable was heard saying in the video.
It is noted that Davido had previously extended an invitation to Portable to join him in Atlanta, an opportunity that seemed promising but allegedly did not materialize as expected.
Portable had earlier accused Davido of providing misleading advice during their time together in America, which exacerbated his dissatisfaction.
The situation escalated to the point where Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram, prompting further outrage from the aggrieved artist.
In his online statements, Portable expressed disappointment that Davido did not collaborate with him as promised, denying him the chance to shine alongside the renowned artist.
He emphasized his belief in his own star power and asserted that Davido should have compensated him with the agreed-upon sum of $10,000 for his contributions.
The accusations from Portable have sparked discussions within the Nigerian music industry, with fans and observers weighing in on social media platforms.
Davido, known for his collaborations with various artists both locally and internationally, has not publicly responded to Portable’s allegations at the time of reporting.
