Nigeria Football Federation Set to Launch Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee
Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will inaugurate the Federation’s Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee on Thursday at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja. The committee, chaired by Otuekong Nse Essien, includes Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf (Fresh) as vice chairman, with members comprising Aminu Mohammed Inuwa , Hon. The Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee is tasked with organizing all futsal and beach soccer competitions and handling related matters in Nigeria. Historically, Nigeria has excelled in beach soccer, winning the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in 2007 and 2009 and reaching the quarter-finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy thirteen years ago.
Recently, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with Nigeria’s Supers Eagles set to face Mauritania in home and away fixtures next month as Fourteen other countries will participate in the qualifiers, with seven winners advancing to join Egypt, the host nation, at the finals.
