Netanyahu to Meet Trump Amid US-Iran Talks on Ballistic Missiles
Washington – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet US President Donald Trump in the United States as follow-up talks with Iran are planned, according to the Israeli PM’s office. The meeting, the seventh between the two leaders since Trump returned to office last year, will focus on the US-Iran negotiations, with Netanyahu pushing for limits on Tehran’s ballistic missile program and an end to its support for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
Iran, however, has signaled that its talks with the US will focus solely on the nuclear issue, rejecting discussions on missiles as “non-negotiable.” President Masoud Pezeshkian described the indirect talks held in Oman as a “step forward” but stressed the need for dialogue without military pressure.
Trump said the last round of talks in Oman “was very good” and warned of “steep consequences” if Iran fails to reach a deal. Analysts note that the outcome may hinge on whether Washington prioritizes achievable nuclear demands or adopts Israel’s broader positions, which could jeopardize negotiations
