NELFUND Expands Student Loan Scheme to 70 Institutions Across Nigeria

Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its student loan scheme to include 22 additional state-owned tertiary institutions, bringing the total number of participating schools to 70.
This move allows students from these institutions to apply for financial assistance through NELFUND’s student loan program.
In a statement released via its official channels, Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has provided the list of newly onboarded institutions, which join the initial 48 that were previously announced. Students from these institutions can now apply for loans by visiting the NELFUND website at nelf.gov.ng.
The Management of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) is by this notice, announcing the onboarding of 22 additional State-owned tertiary institutions.
“Students from the following State-owned institutions (including the 48 institutions earlier announced) can now apply for student loans by visiting nelf.gov.ng”, it stated.

The expansion comes in the wake of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signing of the Student Loan Act in April 2024, with applications officially opened on May 24.
