NELFUND Clarifies Students’ Monthly Allowance Remains ₦20,000
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has reaffirmed that students benefiting from its loan scheme will continue to receive a monthly upkeep allowance of ₦20,000, dismissing claims of an increase to ₦25,000.
The clarification was issued in Abuja by the agency’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, following the circulation of misleading information on social media suggesting a higher payment.
According to the agency, the approved allowance remains unchanged, and students have been advised to disregard unofficial reports. Beneficiaries were urged to rely only on verified communication channels of the Fund for accurate updates.
NELFUND reiterated its commitment to transparency and efficient delivery of student support services nationwide. The agency also encouraged students to direct inquiries or seek clarification through its official email and social media platforms.
It added that it would continue to provide timely and accurate information to ensure beneficiaries are properly informed about the scheme.
