Nathaniel Bassey, Victoria Orenze Pay Tribute to Slain U.S. Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk

Nigerian gospel singers Nathaniel Bassey and Victoria Orenze have joined global voices mourning American conservative activist and media personality Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on Tuesday, September 10, 2025.
Kirk, 31, was killed around 12:20 p.m. while speaking at Utah Valley University during an event held in a student courtyard and secured by six university officers.
Reacting on Instagram, Bassey wrote: “Pained. Rest in the Lord, Charlie Kirk.”
Orenze, in a passionate tribute, described Kirk as a “true soldier of Christ.” She added:
“TRUTH CANNOT BE KILLED! TRUTH CANNOT BE SILENCED! TRUTH CANNOT BE STOPPED! Charlie Kirk, a true soldier of CHRIST, is with THE TRUTH (JESUS CHRIST)!!! What glory! … His wife, children and family are wrapped by the comfort of the HOLY GHOST in JESUS’ name!”
She further urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, noting: “We are clearly in the last days, Believers! We must boldly stand for JESUS CHRIST (THE TRUTH)!”
Kirk, a close ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump, gained prominence as the founder of Turning Point USA, a youth-focused conservative organisation that played a significant role in mobilising young Republican voters.
Trump ordered U.S. flags to fly at half-staff in Kirk’s honour and blamed the “radical left” for the tragedy. His death has sparked widespread outrage and grief, with tributes pouring in from political, religious, and civic leaders worldwide.
Meanwhile, investigators are still searching for the gunman. CCTV footage of the suspect has been obtained, while the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are assisting in the probe. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has hinted that capital punishment may be considered if the perpetrator is apprehended and convicted.
