NAF Launches Crackdown on Smuggling, Warns Personnel in Niger Delta

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Friday launched a major internal campaign against cross-border smuggling, warning personnel, particularly those stationed in the Niger Delta, against any complicity in activities that threaten national security. The initiative, aligned with the vision of Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, began with a sensitisation lecture at NAF Base Port Harcourt, pointing out the economic and security risks posed by oil bunkering, arms trafficking, and contraband trade.
Delivering the lecture, Air Provost Marshal AVM Jibrin Usman stressed the NAF’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline, warning that any personnel found complicit in smuggling would face severe military punishment.
