November 11, 2025

The Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, has shared the Council’s vision for transforming Nigeria into a leading hub for vehicle manufacturing, design, and innovation in Africa.

Speaking on the National Orientation Agency’s (NOA) Policy Perspective programme in Abuja, Osanipin highlighted efforts to create opportunities for young Nigerians through training centres, the Automotive Design and Innovation Institute, and partnerships with organisations like CREDICORP to boost local engine manufacturing and financial inclusion.

He emphasized the Council’s goal of making locally assembled vehicles more affordable, reducing dependence on imports, and fostering a sustainable automotive sector that drives economic growth. Osanipin called on investors to explore the industry’s potential and commended local manufacturers for their contributions, stressing that innovation and sustainability are central to Nigeria’s automotive future.
