Manchester City agree British record £125m deal for Enzo Fernandez
Manchester City have agreed a deal worth £125 million with Chelsea to sign midfielder Enzo Fernandez, matching the British record transfer fee paid by Liverpool for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak on last year’s Deadline Day. Chelsea are set to make an £18 million profit on Fernandez, who joined the club from Benfica for £107 million three-and-a-half years ago. The transfer will also take Chelsea’s income from player sales this window to £415 million, surpassing their previous Premier League record of £314 million set last summer. The deal means Chelsea, previously the league’s biggest spenders in the current window, will become the biggest sellers, while Manchester City move in the opposite direction.
