Kwara Youth Group Endorses Engr. Femi Sanni for Governorship
A youth coalition in Kwara State, Kwara Youth for Good Governance (KYFGG), has declared its support for governorship aspirant Engr. Femi Sanni (Araba), ahead of the state’s next election cycle. The endorsement was announced today, Friday, April 10th, 2026, during a press conference held at Arca Santa Event Place, Ilorin, where the group said its decision followed extensive consultations across communities and youth networks.
Addressing journalists, the convener of KYFGG, Salman Idris, said the group represents a collective of young professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and community advocates committed to promoting responsible and inclusive leadership in the state. According to the convener, the support for Sanni is based on his track record in business, youth development, and humanitarian activities.
The group described Sanni as a leader with experience in enterprise and job creation, adding that his background reflects an understanding of economic growth and sustainability, particularly at a time when youth unemployment remains a major concern.
KYFGG also pointed to his involvement in grassroots sports development, saying his contributions have provided opportunities for young people to develop their talents and remain productively engaged.
In addition, the group referenced his humanitarian interventions across communities, stating that his outreach to vulnerable groups demonstrates a people-oriented approach to leadership. Salman added that Sanni’s experience in grassroots mobilization and progressive politics positions him as a candidate capable of delivering inclusive governance.
The group said its endorsement goes beyond political support, describing it as a call for a leadership direction focused on economic expansion, youth empowerment, and accountable governance. They also called on political stakeholders, civil society organizations, and residents of the state to adopt a consultative approach in the selection of leaders to ensure that governance reflects the will of the people.
The coalition added that it would continue to advocate for good governance, youth participation, and accountability in Kwara State.
