Kwara United, Abia Warriors Exit CAF Confederation Cup

Kwara United and Abia Warriors have crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after defeats in their preliminary round second-leg fixtures on Sunday.
Kwara United fell 1-0 to Ghana’s Asante Kotoko at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. Despite dominating much of the contest, the Harmony Boys were undone by poor finishing, with Hubert Ayau scoring the decisive goal in the 53rd minute. The result saw Asante Kotoko advance 5-3 on aggregate.
Abia Warriors also exited the competition after a 1-0 loss to Djoliba of Mali. The Malian side secured a 2-1 aggregate victory to book their place in the next round.
The defeats ended Nigeria’s hopes of representation in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
