Kwara State Customs Remits N10 Billion, Seizes Prohibited Items
Faith Ojeifo, the Customs Area Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs Service in Kwara State has announced at a press conference in Ilorin that the command had remitted over N10 billion between January and May 2024.
Moreover, during this period, the command has also recorded 21 seizures of prohibited items, including 507 bags of foreign rice, one used vehicle, 1,055 used tyres, and 164 jerry cans of petrol, with a total duty paid value of N35,416,140.
Additionally, the command has also contributed relief materials to the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development to support those affected by various crises. She, further more highlighted the ministry’s non-revenue-generating status, emphasizing the commendable efforts it makes in assisting the less privileged, vulnerable, and disabled members of society.
“We are aware that the ministry is not a revenue-generating one, and only benefits from monthly allocations from the state government and that is why we are recognizing the tireless efforts of the ministry in serving the less privileged, vulnerable and the disabled in the society,”
