Kwara Releases 2025 BECE Results, Records Higher Pass Rates and Enrolment

The Kwara State Government has released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), reflecting improved student performance in key subjects and higher enrolment levels compared to previous years.
Data from the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development showed notable gains in pass rates for Mathematics, English, National Values, History, and Pre-Vocational Studies. Mathematics improved by 2.23 percentage points, English by 2.94, National Values by 4.51, History by 3.72, and Pre-Vocational Studies by 3.33. Average scores across English, Mathematics, and National Values also increased, signaling broader progress beyond the pass mark.
The results also confirmed a steady rise in student participation. Enrolment grew by 27 percent between 2019 and 2025, with female participation increasing marginally from 47.89 percent to 48.33 percent. In the 2025 cycle alone, enrolment rose from 56,508 candidates in 2024 to 57,787. Attendance in English improved slightly from 95.29 percent to 96.09 percent.
Officials attributed the improvements to sustained investment in the education sector under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration. The ministry directed principals of junior secondary schools across the state to collect their students’ results from September 11, with results and scratch cards for online checking to be issued free of charge.
