Kwara Police Arrest Suspect After Pregnant Woman Dismembered in Ilorin

Ilorin, Kwara State – Residents of Temidire community along Egbejila Road were thrown into shock on Thursday after the dismembered body of 39-year-old Mrs. Esther Enemo was discovered in a bush behind her home. Parts of her body were also found in a sack dumped under a nearby community bridge.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident, noting that the case was reported around 9 a.m. by a resident who noticed something suspicious at the victim’s residence. SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said a suspect, Mr. Sylvester Enemo, 29, the younger brother of the victim’s husband, was arrested after being sighted leaving the house shortly before the discovery. The victim’s husband, Mr. Ekene Enemo, has also been contacted for clarification. The remains have been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, described the incident as unfortunate and assured residents that justice would be pursued diligently. He urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and provide useful tips to aid the investigation, stressing that security has been reinforced across the state. The gruesome crime has continued to send shockwaves through the Ilorin community, with residents expressing concern over the brutality of the act.
