Kwara Govt, NGO Partner to Establish Code Clubs in Schools

A non-profit organisation, Webfala Digital Skills for All Initiative (WDSFAI), has partnered with the Kwara State Government to set up Code Clubs in schools across the state as part of efforts to empower young learners with 21st-century digital skills.
The initiative, supported by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, targets children between the ages of 8 and 16 and is designed to equip them with knowledge in coding, robotics, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and safe digital practices.
According to WDSFAI, the project is aimed at boosting digital literacy and preparing students for future opportunities in technology and innovation. Selected schools across Kwara State are expected to commence the programme in the new academic session beginning later this month.
The participating schools will receive free robotics kits, teacher training, mentorship, and access to wider STEM opportunities. The project also seeks to make digital skills more accessible to learners from underserved communities while nurturing the next generation of innovators.
The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has endorsed the partnership, describing it as a key step in aligning education with the state government’s vision for digital innovation and STEM-driven learning.
