Kwara Govt Backs Sugar Factory Film Studios’ Debut Series Ajuwaya

The Kwara State Government has thrown its weight behind the newly unveiled short series Ajuwaya, produced by Sugar Factory Film Studios, describing it as a landmark step in advancing the state’s creative economy.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Sugar Factory Film Studios, Mr. Olagbenga Titiloye, acknowledged the support of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, which he said was instrumental to the success of the production and the establishment of the film studio.
He noted that Sugar Factory Film Studios represents a strategic cultural and economic investment for Kwara State, designed to drive growth in the creative industry while positioning Ilorin as a hub for film production in Nigeria. He also disclosed that the studio features a casting workshop and a creative lab dedicated to mentorship, capacity building, and the development of storytelling for African and global audiences.
Government officials in attendance praised the initiative for its role in fostering innovation and youth empowerment. The Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bolanle Olukoju, commended the studio’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and providing opportunities for young people in the film and media sector. The Deputy Chief of Staff, Princess Babalola Olubukola, described Ajuwaya as a platform that showcases the creativity and talent of Nigerian youths. She urged young people to use such opportunities to project positive narratives, embrace innovation, and contribute meaningfully to national development, as the event marked a major milestone for Kwara’s growing creative industry, as stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to making the state a center for film production, digital innovation, and cultural expression.
