Kwara Governor, PDP Mourn the Passing of Saraki Matriarch, Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed their condolences to the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on the passing of his mother, Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki.
The entire Kwara State political landscape and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have been plunged into mourning following the demise of Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, the revered mother of Dr. Bukola Saraki, former President of the Nigerian Senate and prominent leader of the PDP in Kwara State.
Chief Mrs. Florence Saraki, aged 89, passed away on June 18, 2024, as announced by her son, Dr. Bukola Saraki, through his official social media platforms.
Expressing profound sadness, the Kwara State PDP, in a statement signed by State Chairman Rt. Honorable Babatunde Mohammed, described the late matriarch as a strong pillar of support not only to Dr. Bukola Saraki but also to numerous others beyond her immediate family circle.
The statement highlighted her unwavering dedication to family values and her impactful presence within the Saraki dynasty.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, a remarkable matriarch whose life was marked by profound impact and unwavering dedication to her family and Kwara State,” the PDP statement read.
The party conveyed heartfelt condolences to Dr. Bukola Saraki and urged him to find solace in the enduring legacy his mother leaves behind. “Her contributions to the lives of those around her and her enduring influence within the Saraki family will continue to inspire us all,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also extended his condolences to the Saraki family on the passing of their matriarch.
In a separate statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRazaq commiserated with Dr. Bukola Saraki, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Mr. Olaolu Saraki, and the entire Saraki family.
“The Governor urges the Sarakis to be consoled by the fine legacies of their matriarch,” the statement noted. Governor AbdulRazaq prayed for the repose of Chief Mrs. Florence Saraki’s soul and for strength and comfort for the family during this difficult period.
