Kwara Government Distributes Federal Palliative Maize and Sorghum in Koro-Afoju
Kwara State Government continued its efforts to alleviate the impact of economic hardships on vulnerable communities as it distributed food palliatives from the federal government in Koro-Afoju, Ilorin, on Wednesday.
The distribution, overseen by the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency, marked another step in the state’s commitment to supporting its citizens during challenging times.
The initiative, which commenced on Saturday, saw the distribution of 17,578 50kg bags of maize, sorghum, and millet to aid those most in need. This effort falls in line with the directives of the federal government to ensure that essential food supplies reach those who require assistance.
Community representatives, Mohammadu Sanni and Moshuru, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his consistent efforts in providing for the people, particularly vulnerable groups.
Moshuru highlighted the governor’s previous support during Ramadan, where rice, semolina, and sugar were distributed, and praised his ongoing commitment to including the needs of the Blind Colony (Koro-Afoju) in governmental plans.
“We appreciate His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving us palliative in Koro-Afoju,” Moshuru remarked. “He gave us rice, semo, and sugar during Ramadan. We thank the Governor for always putting us in his plan. We are receiving bags of maize, millet, and sorghum.”
The distribution of these essential food items underscores the government’s dedication to ensuring that no community is left behind in its efforts to mitigate the effects of economic challenges.
