Kwara Fire Service Urges Caution After Blaze Hits Two-Bedroom Flat
The Kwara State Fire Service is urging residents to exercise caution following a recent fire incident that engulfed a two-bedroom flat located off Bolakele Street, Ali-Maruf checking point area, Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government, Kwara State.
The fire, which affected a building comprising two flats with two bedrooms each, was swiftly attended to by firemen after receiving a distress call from Mr. Abdulwasiu.
Thanks to their prompt response, the fire was contained, preventing its spread to adjacent structures.
Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity at Kwara Fire Service, disclosed that an investigation into the incident revealed a power surge as the cause of the inferno.
He stressed the importance of raising awareness about fire safety protocols in the community to mitigate future occurrences.
In light of the incident, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, the Director of Kwara State Fire Service, advised residents and property owners in the area to take proactive measures to prevent similar incidents.
He recommended the installation and regular maintenance of fire safety equipment such as surge protectors, circuit breakers, and fire extinguishers.
