Kwara FA Secures ₦50m Sponsorship Deal to Boost Federation Cup
The Kwara State Football Association (Kwara FA) has secured a major sponsorship agreement worth ₦50 million with Stafolga Group and FlowFM to support the state’s Federation Cup over the next three years.
The deal is expected to enhance the organization and competitiveness of the annual tournament, widely regarded as the top knockout football competition in Kwara State.
Kwara FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, expressed appreciation to the sponsors for their commitment to grassroots football development. He also acknowledged Engr. Femi Sanni (Árábà) for facilitating the partnership, noting that his contribution has significantly strengthened the competition.
Thuraya said the sponsorship would improve the overall quality of the tournament by ensuring better planning, enhanced logistics, and more attractive incentives for participating teams. He added that it would also help restore the Federation Cup’s status as a key platform for discovering football talent in the state.
Under the agreement, participating clubs are expected to benefit from improved matchday experiences, increased exposure, and better prize structures, which will serve as motivation for players and teams.
For the sponsors, the partnership provides an opportunity to expand brand visibility and connect with a broad audience of football fans. FlowFM, serving as the media partner, will also use the platform to strengthen its sports programming and engagement with listeners.
Stakeholders believe the initiative will not only promote grassroots football but also boost community engagement, stimulate local economic activities around match venues, and reinforce sports as a unifying force in the state.
The development signals a new phase of growth and professionalism for the Kwara Federation Cup within Nigeria’s football landscape.
