Kwara FA, Flow FM 92.7 Hold Signing Ceremony, Conduct Draws for 2026 Federation Cup
The Kwara State Football Association, in partnership with Flow FM 92.7, has officially flagged off activities for the 2026 Federation Cup Championship with a signing ceremony, draws, and jersey unveiling held at the station’s premises in Ilorin.
The event attracted major stakeholders in Kwara football, including the Chairman of the Association, Idris Abdullahi Musa, Chairman of Flow FM and Stefolga Group, Engr. Femi Sanni Araba, former Chairman of Kwara United, Thompson Oladimeji, members of the Kwara FC Supporters Club, representatives of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, officials of the Nigeria Nationwide League One, local football councils across the state, and other affiliates of the association.
In his opening address, kwara FA chairman, Idris Abdullahi Musa spoke extensively on the need for sustained sponsorship and wider participation to grow football in Kwara State. He reserved special commendation for Engr. Femi Sanni (Araba), describing him as a strong pillar in the development of sports within the state and beyond.
The FA chairman praised Sanni’s consistent investment in grassroots football, his support for competitions, and his role in providing a platform through Flow FM and Stefolga that continues to promote local talents. He noted that such commitment has not only elevated the standard of the game in Kwara but has also positioned the state as a growing force in Nigerian football. Musa expressed deep appreciation for Sanni’s willingness to partner with the association, adding that his contributions remain invaluable to the progress being recorded.
In his remarks, Engr. Femi Sanni encouraged all participating teams and officials to uphold discipline and fair play throughout the competition. He also offered prayers for the survival of Kwara United in the league, assuring stakeholders of his continued support for football development at both grassroots and national levels.
The ceremony proceeded with the formal signing of documents and the unveiling of jerseys for the tournament.
The draws for the championship produced fixtures in both categories. In the men’s event, Kwita FC will face Kwara United, while ABS FC will take on Gaa Akanbi FC, with the semi-final matches scheduled for April 22, 2026.
In the women’s category, Model Football Academy will battle Moje Queens FC in the final.
The finals are slated for April 26, 2026, at the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium, with the women’s final to be played ahead of the men’s final.
The 2026 Federation Cup in Kwara State is expected to further spotlight emerging talents and strengthen the football structure across all levels.
