Kebbi Governor Visits Mosque Attack Victims, Promises Enhanced Security
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris on Thursday visited the community of Dadin Kowa in Maiyama Local Government Area following a deadly attack on a mosque that claimed five lives during Isha and Taraweeh prayers.
The Kebbi State Police Command had earlier confirmed the killing of the worshippers in the assault. Speaking during the condolence visit, Governor Idris described the attack as “barbaric and unacceptable,” offering condolences to the victims’ families, the Dadin Kowa community, and residents of Maiyama. He prayed for the repose of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
The governor assured residents that security remains a top priority, noting that military personnel and other security agencies have been deployed to the area to prevent further incidents. He emphasized that the state government will continue supporting security forces in their duties.
Governor Idris also urged residents to remain calm, united, and cooperative with authorities by providing credible information to help track down those responsible. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Kebbi State.
