Kano government Extends Hearing on Emir Dispute to July 2.
The Kano State High Court has adjourned the hearing of a case filed by the Kano State Government against the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and four other emirs till July 2, 2024.
Barrister Ibrahim Muktar, representing Ado Bayero, and Barrister Ibrahim Isah-Wangida, representing the Attorney General of Kano State, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the House of Assembly itself, presented their respective cases.
Initially, the court was scheduled to address a motion on notice concerning an interlocutory injunction, prompted by an interim court order. However, the proceedings were delayed as the first defendant had filed a counter-affidavit, necessitating a response.
