Italian Legend, Baggio Hospitalized After Home Robbery During Euro Match
Italian football icon, Roberto Baggio, was rushed to the hospital following a harrowing robbery at his family home while watching Italy’s defeat to Spain at Euro 2024. Reports from Corriere del Veneto, via Mirror, indicate that a group of five armed intruders broke into Baggio’s residence around 10 pm on Thursday.
During the break-in, Baggio attempted to confront one of the assailants but was struck on the head with the butt of a gun after a brief struggle. His family members were subsequently locked in a room while the thieves proceeded to ransack the house, stealing watches, and other valuables.
After ensuring the robbers had departed, Baggio managed to free his family and alert the police.
He received stitches for his head wound upon arriving at the hospital. Fortunately, his family members were shaken but unharmed in the incident.
