FIFA President Gianni Infantino has defended the recently concluded FIFA World Cup, dismissing critics as “spreading hate and false rumours” and insisting the tournament delivered “only joy and happiness.” In an open letter published on Monday, Infantino said FIFA successfully organized a safe and incident-free competition despite pre-tournament concerns over high ticket prices, visa challenges, geopolitical tensions, and extreme summer heat across the host nations of Canada, Mexico and the United States. He urged critics to reflect on the tournament’s success, arguing they had overlooked what he described as “the best show in the world.”
