Hurricane Beryl Threatens Caribbean Islands with Devastating Winds, Storm Surges
Hurricane Bery has charged across the Atlantic Ocean towards the Windward Islands on Monday, posing a severe threat with potential floods, storm surges, and high winds that could devastate communities.
Ralph Gonsalves , the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines has warned of an impending natural disaster expected to persist for days. However, the Residents have been asked to brace for impact by boarding up shops, stocking up on supplies, and fueling vehicles.
Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center has issued a stark warning that Hurricane Beryl continues to pose extremely dangerous threat as it moves through the Windward Islands towards the eastern Caribbean. Although, Hurricane warnings are currently in effect for Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, along with two other island nations.
Additionally, tropical storm warnings were issued for Martinique and Trinidad, with storm watches extending to parts of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, as preventative measures are underway in Tobago, where shelters are opened, schools closed for Monday, and elective surgeries in hospitals have been cancelled.
