Governor Seyi Makinde Mourns Passing of House Member Olaide Akinremi
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed profound shock and described the passing of House of Representatives member Mr. Olaide Akinremi as a significant loss to the state.
The news of Akinremi’s death, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was announced on Wednesday morning.
Akinremi, a two-term lawmaker of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutes, passed away in an Abuja hospital following a brief illness, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr. Dotun Oyelade, Governor Makinde mourned Akinremi’s demise and ordered that flags across the state be flown at half-mast in honor of the late legislator.
