Governor Fubara Directs Local Government Administration Administration Heads to Take Over Councils

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has directed all Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) across the state’s 23 local government areas to assume leadership roles effective on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
This directive comes on the heels of the expiration of the tenures of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGA) Chairmen on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Governor Fubara, in a broadcast early on Tuesday morning, instructed the Heads of Local Government Administrations to step in immediately and take charge of their respective councils with renewed vigor and readiness to serve.
He also urged them to await further directives as the state government navigates towards achieving greater accomplishments together.
Acknowledging the outgoing Local Government Areas Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councilors for their dedicated service to their communities, Governor Fubara commended their efforts and wished them well in their future endeavors.
The directive, according to Governor Fubara, is firmly rooted in the law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, aiming to swiftly fill the administrative vacuum left by the departing LGA Chairmen.
In reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of Rivers State residents, Governor Fubara promised to continue championing their interests.
He highlighted ongoing efforts in providing robust infrastructural development, enhancing healthcare delivery, ensuring quality education, and comprehensive welfare services for all residents and workers alike.
Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of the people towards his administration, Governor Fubara emphasized his dedication to fostering collaborative efforts aimed at building a brighter and better future for all citizens of Rivers State.
