Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Appointed Chair of APC FCT Election Campaign Council
Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as chair of the 173-member National Campaign Council for the upcoming Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections scheduled for 21 February 2026.
Governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), and Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger) will serve as co-chairmen. Other governors on the council include Uba Sani (Kaduna), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (Ekiti), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom). Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas are also members.
The council is set to be inaugurated on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at the APC National Working Committee Hall, Abuja. It will oversee the campaigns of APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates across the six FCT area councils to ensure electoral success.
