Gaise Baba Tops Nigeria’s 2025 YouTube Chart as Most-Watched Music Video
YouTube has released its 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, revealing the artists, creators and videos that captured the country’s highest viewership this year. Gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye topped the music category with his hit track “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, which drew over 41 million views within six months to become Nigeria’s most-watched music video of the year.
The rankings, announced in a statement by YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo, also highlighted Nollywood star Omoni Oboli as the top content creator in Nigeria, with her channel Omoni Oboli TV leading digital creators nationwide.
Shallipopi, Davido, Olamide, Asake, Rema and Wizkid also dominated the music video chart with multiple high-performing releases.
