Former Nigerian International Criticizes NFF’s Decision on Super Eagles Technical Adviser
Dimeji Lawal, a former Nigerian Footballer, has expressed disapproval of the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) decision to bring in a technical adviser for the Super Eagles, whom head coach Finidi George will report to. This move comes as Nigeria seeks to rejuvenate their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign following disappointing performances.
The resolution was reached during the NFF’s meeting on June 12, 2024, conducted in Hybrid Mode. If appointed, the foreign technical adviser will assume a supervisory role over Finidi George, who was appointed as the Super Eagles’ head coach in April.
Lawal, speaking to Completesports.com, voiced his concerns over this decision, questioning the rationale behind hiring someone for George to learn from. He suggested that George should be given more time to prove himself, especially considering he has only been in charge for a short period.
