Federal Government Makes Project Submission to National Repository Mandatory for NYSC Mobilisation
The Federal Government has announced that from October 6, all graduates, whether from Nigerian or foreign institutions, must submit their thesis or final year projects to the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) as a condition for mobilisation into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The directive, approved by President Bola Tinubu and conveyed through a circular from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, aims to enhance academic quality, prevent certificate fraud, and secure intellectual property. Each submission must include detailed authorship and supervisory information, with the NERD programme also offering a monetisation mechanism to reward students and lecturers for their academic work.
