FCTA Workers Face Consequences if Strike Continues, Says Minister Wike

January 28, 2026

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has warned that any FCTA worker who refuses to resume work following a court order will face consequences. The statement came after the National Industrial Court in Abuja directed workers to suspend their ongoing strike.

Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Wike emphasized that enforcement of the court order would begin Wednesday noting that the FCTA has been open to dialogue, adding that discussions had taken place between labour representatives and management. However, he warned that blackmail or intimidation would not be tolerated.
