Falconets Gear Up for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with Australia, Mexico Friendlies

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, are set to take on Australia and Mexico in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Having commenced their training camp in Abuja two weeks ago, the Falconets are intensifying their efforts to fine-tune their squad ahead of the global tournament. Their preparation will culminate with a trip to Colombia next month, where they will face off against their counterparts from Australia and Mexico in crucial warm-up matches.
The friendlies, slated to take place in Colombia, will provide valuable competitive experience for the Falconets as they finalize their roster. Currently, 32 players are contending for spots in the team, aiming to represent Nigeria on the international stage.
In the upcoming U-20 Women’s World Cup, the Falconets find themselves placed in a challenging group alongside three-time champions Germany, Venezuela, and Korea.
